Torino Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony
Friday February 10, 2006
After 62 days and over 10,000 kilometres, the Olympic Flame has reached its final destination of Turin, Italy. Tonight is the big night for the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics, a celebration that promises to be spectacular. A highlight will be the "Sparks of Passion", eight ice hockey athletes racing at 50 km an hour around the track inside the Olympic Stadium, emitting red flames up to 3 meters long from their helmets. Specatators at the ceremony will receive an "audience kit" to be used during the ceremony and they will be instructed on how to use it during the pre-show. I wonder what that's all about. It should be interesting. So tune in to NBC tonight to see the show.
