2006 Torino Winter Olympics Resources
Sunday February 19, 2006
The Olympics are halfway over. According to James Martin, About's Olympic correspondent, the city of Turin and the Piedmont region have done a great job organizing and pulling off the staging of the events and ceremonies. Having the awards ceremonies in the main piazza instead of in a newly-constructed stadium was a great idea, evoking a feeling of antiquity mixed with Italian culture. Although there have been some bad athletic moments, most of the athletes are truly happy to be there and making the most out of their Olympic days in Italy.
