Top Ten Opera Houses in Italy

Thursday March 2, 2006
Opera fans will not want to miss the chance to attend a live opera performance during their travels to Italy. Italy has a wealth of beautiful, historic opera houses, mostly from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Opera is still very popular in Italy and is performed not only in opera houses but also in historic outdoor settings during the summer. If you're not a big fan of opera but would still like to enjoy a visit to an opera house, most opera houses also hold drama, dance, or other musical concerts. It is best to buy tickets ahead of time. I've put together a list of Top Opera Houses in Italy, from the famous La Fenice in Venice all the way to Sicily, including a couple stunning outdoor settings.
