Rome Tour Review

Wednesday August 9, 2006
Note: The link for Mantua in the August 16, 2006, newsletter incorrectly takes you to this blog post. If you're really looking for Mantua, here's the Renaissance City of Mantua link. If you want to read the Rome Tour Review, continue reading below.

Rome Tour Review

Normally I stay away from guided tours but Miles&Miles offers personalized Rome tours that make a great way to experience Rome.

How is this Rome tour different from a big bus tour? You're in a small van with just your group. You can stay at each stop as long as you want without having to follow the timeline of a large group and the car is waiting for you when you are ready to leave. Your small van can get to places in Rome not accessible to a big tourist bus. Your guide can personalize the tour for you and talking with the guide is easy.

We enjoyed a great 4-hour Rome tour in the morning and a very informative tour of the Vatican Museum, St. Peter's, and the Sistine Chapel in the afternoon with Miles&Miles. Read my Review of Miles&Miles Rome City Tour.

I Agree! Private tour guides are the best. They give you a personal touch, answer all your questions, and are not to pushy with time. Hehehe I say this with experience. Compared to the

“mass tours” of places private guides are better. When we were staying at this very nice vacation apartment in Rome we saved a lot of money by not staying at a hotel. That money we spent on exploring the city, and good thing we knew a guide that was good at what she does.

How much were the tours from miles and miles?
