St. Peter's Basilica Pictures - Inside the Vatican

Saturday September 2, 2006
inside st. peters pictureSt. Peter's Basilica in Vatican city is one of the largest and most important Catholic Churches in the World. In front of the Basilica is a huge piazza ringed with eliptical colonnades topped with statues of former Popes. The dome of St. Peter's is nearly as large as the Pantheon's dome and can be seen from a long distance.

Although entrance to St. Peter's is free, the lines are long. The best time to visit St. Peter's to avoid a long wait is in the afternoon or during the off-season. Many people visit St. Peter's Basilica when they travel to Rome and St. Peter's is one of the top Rome Churches to Visit. Enjoy our Pictures of St. Peters Basilica.
