New Routes to Italy on Ryan Air

RyanAir, Ireland's very budget airline, has several new routes to small airports in Italy making travel to Italy from the UK even easier. London Stansted Airport has flights to Perugia, the capital of Umbria. This is exciting news since the Umbria area is difficult to reach because of its distance from other Italian airports. East Midlands Airport has added flights to Alghero in Sardinia.

RyanAir currently offers flights to many smaller airports in Italy as well. See the RyanAir web site for details and prices, some amazingly low. There are great deals for those traveling from the UK, but keep in mind that if you're traveling from the US you'll likely land in London Heathrow and RyanAir does not fly from that airport.

We are reserving a hotel as close to the Bergamo/Milan airport. We fly Ryan Air and have some confusion about the name of the airport. Since we arrive late at night we wanted a close location. When I look at airports in this area the name is Orio Al Serio/ Is this the same one?

Yes, Orio al Serio is the Bergamo airport (BGY).
