Calabria Pictures and Travel Map

Calabria, the "toe of the boot" on the map of Italy, is a beautiful region often overlooked by tourists. Calabria is narrow and almost completely surrounded by the sea. In Calabria, you're never far from the coast where you'll find fishing villages, beaches, and great seafood as well as over 100 towers like the one in the picture.

Calabria has Saracen, Roman, and Greek ruins and for nature lovers there are four national parks. In northern Calabria, you'll find interesting Albanian settlements from the 1400's - don't miss the small but very interesting museum in Civita.
