Venice Clock Tower Restored
The restoration of Venice's Clock Tower or Torre dell'Orologio, in Piazza San Marco is now complete and the tower has reopened for visits.
Completed in 1499, the Torre dell'Orologio was one of the most complex clock towers ever constructed. The clock tower was closed in 1997 for extensive restoration and is now working again. Small groups of visitors can can tour its intricate interior and have a spectacular panoramic view of Venice from the tower roof.
