San Marino Men Live Longest

Men in the tiny republic of San Marino in the northeast area of Italy have the world's longest life expectancy for males, 80 years. Although not really a part of the country of Italy, San Marino is completely surrounded by the Italian regions of Emilia-Romagna and Le Marche.

According to the World Health Organization, Italian males have a life expectancy of 78 years. Females in both San Marino and Italy have a life expectancy of 84 years while Japan has the highest life expectancy for females, 86 years.
