A 4-Hour Walking Tour of Rome
Submitted by Monica Hildebrand - An American Writer in Florence, Italy
A visit to Italy is not complete without visiting Rome, the eternal city. Traveling to Rome from Florence is relatively easy and inexpensive by taking the Italian express train, Eurostar. A second-class ticket is less than $50 USD and will take 1 - ½ hours (one-way) to get you from Santa Maria Novella to Rome Termini (respectively, train stations for Florence and Rome).Upon arriving at Rome Termini, I took the escalator to the Metro. For 4 euros you can ride the Metro for up to six hours and stop and tour many of Rome’s most famous sights.
Here is Monica's 4-hour Walking Tour of Rome, a suggested self-guided itinerary taking in some of Rome's top sites.
