TripIt Online Travel Organizer

Saturday September 22, 2007
If you're like many travelers these days, you plan your trip and make reservations independently, often using several different web sites. Here's a solution for organizing your itinerary. TripIt, called the First Intelligent Travel Organizer, lets you easily combine your reservations and store them in one place just by forwarding your reservation confirmation emails. You can access your information easily when and where you need it, print one master itinerary, and share your itinerary with others.

I tried TripIt for my trip to Illinois next week. I forwarded my flight reservation email (which was very difficult to read) and within seconds it was neatly in my trip file with links for checking flight status and checking in online. There's also a Google map so you can get directions from the airport and average weather. I can also add notes to my itinerary with links to other web sites if I find restaurants or other things I want to do in the area.

TripIt was designed by co-founders Gregg Brockway, Scott Hintz and Andy Denmark. Gregg Brockway, president, was a former co-founder of the discount online travel company Hotwire and former president of Expedia's luxury travel company Classic Vacations, Inc.
