Glass Christmas Tree in Venice, Italy

Sunday December 16, 2007
Last year the tallest glass Christmas tree in the world was erected on Venice's Murano Island. This year the tree, called Glass reflections in a Christmas tree, is on display in Venice's Piazzetta dei Leoncini. You can see a photogallery of the stunning glass Christmas tree designed by Master Glassblower Simone Cenedese on Simone's web site.

If you're traveling to Venice in December, be sure to see the tree and take a look at these tips for spending Christmas and New Years on Venice from Dream of Italy blog. Although it may be cold in winter, it's a good time to visit Venice to avoid the crowds and entrance lines. Hotels can often be found for half the price of high season and air fares are usually less expensive, too.
