Pictures of Rome's Villa Torlonia
Villa Torlonia in Rome was once a noble villa and later the residence of former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. Villa Torlonia, now owned by the city of Rome, has been restored and is open for visits. Inside the villa are beautiful frescoes, stuccoes, chandeliers, and marbles.
Villa Torlonia is part of a large complex that includes a reproduction of a frescoed Etruscan tomb, a theater, extensive gardens, and the whimsical Casina della Civette, the owl's bungalow, with a museum inside. The gardens are open to the public and concerts are often held there during summer.

I visited Villa Toronia this summer (2007). The place was empty and extremely interesting. Very easy to find also. I would highly recommend !
