Skiing in Tuscany

Monday January 7, 2008
To many travelers a vacation in Tuscany conjures up pictures of lazy days in the sun strolling through historic hill towns, tasting wine, and eating good food on a terrace with fantastic views. But did you know that you can actually ski in Tuscany? The Zum Zeri-Passo Due Santi ski resort is in northern Tuscany's Lunigiana region bordering the regions of Liguria and Emilia Romagna. Here's a winter photo of Zeri posted on blogzeri and information about the Zeri area on Wandering Italy and the Passo due Santi web site.

The Lunigiana region is a scenic area of northern Tuscany with small medieval villages and castles, wooded hills, and traditional festivals. Here you'll find fewer tourists and lower prices than in other parts of Tuscany. It's well worth a visit for those who want to get off the beaten track in Italy.
