Auditions for Summer Opera Program in Italy

Friday January 18, 2008
Opera students wishing to attend the Italian Operatic Experience 2008 summer opera program should apply now. Auditions will be held January 26 in Amherst and in February in New York City. You can also apply by sending an audition packet by February 15. Italian Operatic Experience web site has details and contact information.

Italy Travel Picture of UrbaniaThe opera program is held in the beautiful town of Urbania, near the Renaissance town of Urbino in central Italy's Le Marche Region. Scuola Italia provides morning Italian language lessons followed by musical coaching by some of the top music professors in the US. At the end of the 2008 season, students will perform La Boheme in the beautiful, historic Bramante Theater. Performances are free to the public. If you're looking for a shorter stay, Professional Advantage has a new program in nearby Piobbico, also in conjunction with Scoula Italia.

Our Urbania Travel Attractions has more about Italian Operatic Experience, Scuola Italia, and the town of Urbania. For more about visiting the beautiful, often overlooked Le Marche region and Urbania's location, see our Le Marche Travel Map. If you're planning to visit, the Country House Parco Ducale is a friendly and relaxing place to stay.
