April Festivals in Italy
Friday March 28, 2008
April is usually filled with holy week events, but Easter came early this year. There are several big festivals toward the end of April. Rome was founded April 21 (in 753 BC) and there will be special events and festivals on that date in Rome to celebrate. Venice holds a big celebration on April 25 for Saint Mark or San Marco, the patron saint of Venice. In Narni, in the Umbria region, there's a medieval jousting competition in April.
Italian food festivals in April include asparagus and artichokes. See our April Festivals in Italy for more events and information or plan ahead for next month with May Italian Festivals.
