Cooking Classes in Italy

Tuesday April 15, 2008
I've gotten several requests recently asking for information about cooking classes in Italy. There are cooking classes in nearly every region of Italy and most of them cater to foreigners on vacation so English is usually spoken. Taking a cooking class on your Italian vacation is a great way to learn about Italian food, wine and culture. Cooking courses range from half day to full week programs.

At Fontana del Papa you become part of an Italian family and get to experience real Italian life away from the tourist crowds. You won't even need a car since they'll pick you up at the train station or port. They have a unique one day program for people on cruises with a day in port, too.

Monica Hildebrand, an American writer in Florence, submitted a description of a Full Flavours Immersion Class she attended in July, 2007. Transportation was provided from and back to Florence for the five hour course. Cooking courses like these are a good way to take a day trip away from the city.

Now we're on our way to check out Flavor of Italy, offering cooking classes in a gourmet kitchen in northern Rome and one week culinary excursions. Here are more Cooking Classes in Italy.

Did they teach you how to make gelato too? I bet that would be an awesome experience for people learning to prepare italian cuisine. Enjoy your adventures!
