Infiorata - Flower Petal Art in Italy

Monday June 9, 2008
The infiorata is a spectacular display of art made of flower petals. Usually infiorata displays are for Corpus Domini, a holiday celebrated nine weeks after Easter. Although in 2008 Corpus Domini was in May, some towns are holding the infiorata in June (probably a better date for flower petals).

Genzano di Roma, south of Rome, is holding their infiorata on June 15, 2008. Italian Notebook has a good article about the Genzano di Roma infiorata with beautiful photos of a past infiorata.

Noto, a beautiful Baroque town in Sicily, holds their infiorata the third weekend in May. If you're planning a May visit to Sicily, think about including the Noto infiorata in your itinerary. Read more about the Noto Infiorata on Europe Travel.

Although most infiorata dates have already passed this year, plan ahead with our Guide to Infiorata - where to see flower art displays in Italy.

Also still ahead in June is the International Ceramic Festival in Tuscany, June 21-29. See more Italy June Festivals and Events.
