She says you can take the bus into Rome for the day. Besides being a good budget travel tip, this is an especially good choice for families and those traveling by car. In related Rome travel news, it seems that visitors will no longer be able to enjoy a drink or snack while sitting on the famous Spanish Steps (see photo) or at other major tourist attractions in an effort to minimize the huge amounts of trash they leave behind. According to an Associated Press report, snacking at Rome historic center monuments is banned through October and violators can be fined.
