Monte Argentario - Seaside Gem in Tuscany

Saturday November 8, 2008
monte argentario italy travel pictureI'd never heard of Monte Argentario until a few weeks ago when we decided to go for a visit. It's really quite a beautiful place and very different from the rest of Tuscany.

Monte Argentario is part of the Maremma in southern Tuscany. It was once an island but is now connected to the mainland by large sandbars and lagoons. Monte Argentario has good seafood restaurants, wildlife, hiking, old forts and towers, and rugged coastline dotted with beaches. Find out more about what to see and do with our Monte Argentario Travel Guide and take a look at Monte Argentario Pictures on Europe Travel.
