Ski Season Starts in Italy's Piedmont Region
Snow came to Italy last week, enough to open some of northern Italy's ski resorts. Prali, in Piedmont's Val Germanasca, is already open on weekends and Sestriere, a Val Chisone 2006 Winter Olympics venue, will open next week according to Marla of Bella Baita Italian Alps Mountain Retreat. Here's a map of Piedmont's Val Germanasca and Val Chisone with more information about what to do and see in this beautiful area of northwestern Italy and a larger Piedmont Map showing the 2006 Winter Olympics venues in orange. It looks like the start of a good ski season in Italy.
