Italy's newest high speed train connecting Rome to Milan started service December 14. The 300 mile route now takes only 3 1/2 hours, making it one hour less than other trains, according to an Associated Press report. While it's more expensive than the slower trains, it's a little less costly than flying and is more convenient than having to get to and from the airport.
