Follow me on:

Rome Torre Argentina picture Julius Caesar was assassinated on the Ides of March - March 15, 44 BC at the Portico of Pompeii in Rome, now part of the Torre Argentina archaeological site (shown in the photo). While the Torre Argentina site isn't open to the public, you can walk around it and view it free of charge. The site houses the Torre Argentina Roman Cat Sanctuary, a volunteer group that feeds and houses feral cats. If you're a cat lover, check their site to volunteer, or adopt a cat. Friends of Roman Cats holds special events and even runs a Cats and Culture Tour to Italy.
