Bed, Breakfast, and Beaches in Sicily
In Realmonte you can escape the tourists, experience Sicilian small town life and practice your Italian, too. The uncrowded sandy beaches are some of the best in Sicily. Agrigento and the Valley of Greek Temples, one of Sicily's must-see sites, is just 15 km away.

We stayed at Bed and Breakfast Scala dei Turchi last March during the week before Easter. Angela, the friendly owner, brought breakfast items fresh from the bakery each morning and was very helpful. We got to see traditional Holy Week processions, a fantastic display of Sicilian carts, and lots of flowers in bloom but it was still a little cold for the beach. We were told the best time to visit is April and May before the heat of summer.
Some say Sicily will be the next Tuscany, in terms of popularity. Now's the time to visit, while you can still experience Sicily without crowds and high prices.

My creative team produced the audioguides of the Valley of Temples and the nearby museum, and, although I am no longer involved there, they are still an incredible learning experience! We now produce downloadable guides, but mostly in Rome.
An audio guide would be very useful at the Valley of Temples and in the museum. Here is the link to the Rome downloadable guides Lisa mentioned. If you’re going to Rome, check them out.
I just read that a 5-star golf course is going in about half an hour from Realmonte. While this shows a definite interest in the area, I hope it won’t become touristy. It’s very nice the way it is now.
