Mediterranean Games Start June 26 in Italy

The Mediterranean Games, a smaller version of the Olympics, are held every four years with competitions amongst athletes from 23 countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. The 16th Mediterranean Games, or Giochi del Mediterraneo, start with an opening ceremony on June 26 in Pescara, Italy. Italy currently holds the most medals with 1786 total.
