Susan Van Allen's book, 100 Places in Italy Every Woman Should Go, is an excellent resource for women interested in Italy or planning to visit Italy. It's full of ideas (100 of them) about where to go and Susan has written her suggestions to make each visit a Golden Day, recommending a restaurant or cafe and sometimes even a special place to stay. First you'll learn about goddesses and women saints and places that highlight each of them. Additional chapters include gardens, shopping, food, culture, and active adventures. There's really something for everyone, even men.
