Italian christmas bread displayIt's the season of aspettando il natale or waiting for Christmas in Italy. Last weekend we saw displays of Christmas breads and candy, Christmas lights and decorations being put up, and little houses ready for Babbo Natale, Father Christmas.

Aspettando il natale events include Christmas markets (mercatini di natale), concerts, and visits with Babbo Natale - look for posters as you travel in Italy during December.

Hi Martha,

nice post but I’ve to correct your spelling. Infact is: “aspettando il Natale” and not “aspenttando di natale”.

The links are great resources. Good job

Martha, I like your post. I come from Lunigiana but live in Australia. I would love some traditional christmas recipes that the local are cooking this christmas.
