The Vasari Corridor, built for the Medici family in 1564, is a hidden walkway crossing the Arno River over Ponte Vecchio that connects Palazzo Vecchio to the Pitti Palace. Reservations are required to tour the Vassari Corridor and can be made by calling +39 055 294883 or by booking a tour such as Select Italy's Vassari Corridor Tour (booking information) that also includes the Uffizi Gallery.
After touring the Vasari Corridor Andrea said, "To a Florentine like myself, the Uffizi Gallery is almost a second home. I visited with endless number of relatives and friends visiting from different cities from all around the world. But the visit this time had a completely different meaning - the magnificent Corridoio Vasariano is one of the best kept secrets not only of Florence but Italy in General."

Sometimes actors perform a historical drama based on actual events in Florence history at night in the Vasari Corridor, with some performances in English and others in Italian. If you get a chance, don’t miss it. It’s magical!
