Saint Francis, the patron saint of Italy, was born in Assisi in the region of Umbria and spent much time in the peaceful woods outside the town. Recently, the Bosco di San Francesco or Saint Francis woodlands was inaugurated and opened to the public. 12 acres of woodlands was restored with walking paths guiding visitors along three thematic routes. In our article, Saint Francis Woodlands, you'll get an inside look at the park from Rebecca Winke, of Brigolante Guest Apartments, and find out how to visit the Bosco di San Francesco.
