cooking class photoTaking a cooking class on your Italy vacation is a fun way to learn more about food and culture. One of the most popular Italian regions for cooking classes is Tuscany. On Select Italy's Become a Tuscan Chef for a Day (details and booking), based in Florence, students first visit the central market where they taste foods and buy ingredients for the recipes. The 3-hour hands-on class is held in a professional kitchen near the market where students prepare seasonal dishes. At the end of class, students get to eat the meal they've prepared. Andrea Guglielmino, of Select Italy, describes his experience with the class:

In one word - fun. Chef Giovanni and Andrea were great! They know how to entertain the crowd. We first visited the Mercato Centrale where we tasted different kinds of Tuscan oils and we bought all the ingredients for our recipes. The Menu was amazing and easy at the same time: Tiramisu, Bruschetta and Fresh Home Made Pasta (From Us!!!) with a delicious ragu. Really fun and useful. Perfect for families too.
