The Salvatore Ferragamo Shoe Museum in Florence has a special exhibit through January 2013 dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, in honor of the 50th year of her death. During her days as a star, Marilyn had 40 pairs of Ferragamo shoes, many of which she wore in movie scenes, according to this article. 30 pairs of her shoes have been located and are on display at the museum along with other memorabilia.
Salvatore Ferragamo Museum is in Palazzo Spini Feroni on Piazza Santa Trinita in the historic center of Florence. Museum hours: 10AM - 6PM, closed Tuesdays (except in August when it's closed on Sundays); admission is 5 Euro and ticket proceeds are used to finance scholarships for young footwear designers.

Thanks for letting me know about this latest Ferragamo museum show, Martha! I LOVE this museum’s shows every time I go to Florence, especially after I read Salvatore Ferragamo’s biography, Shoemaker of Dreams.
Now I absolutely have to go to Florence on my September trip!
