Fall is a great season for food in Italy. It's the season for olive and grape harvesting and in many parts of the country it's mushroom season. Truffle fairs are held in late October and November in the Piemonte, Emilia Romagna, northern Tuscany, Umbria, and Marche regions. Today we're going to an autumn festival to sample the foods of early autumn. October also has several interesting festivals like the Man in the Iron Mask festival held in Pinerolo, Piemonte and the huge chocolate fair in Perugia. November starts with a holiday for All Saint's Day.
