New Year's Eve in Italian Cities

By December 13, 2012

Follow me on:

Italian cities celebrate New Year's Eve with all-night parties, special events, and big fireworks displays at midnight. Venice usually celebrates with a giant group kiss in Piazza San Marco, Naples is known for its huge fireworks show, and Bologna holds the unusual Fiera del Bue Grasso or Fat Ox Fair. Find out more about where to go and what to see in Italian New Year's Eve Celebrations.

If you're going to Italian city on New Year's Eve, be sure to book your hotel in advance (see top hotels in Italian destinations). Remember if you are going out in Italian cities, check public transportation schedules for New Year's Eve and expect big crowds at main events. If you don't want to brave the crowds, the big New Year's Eve party in Rimini is usually shown on Italian TV.

New Year’s in Italy is a great idea. Experiencing other cultures around the Holidays is a fantastic way to make your at-home celebrations even more meaningful. Why not plan Christmas in Italy along with New Year’s?
