If the winter weather's got you down, start planning a sunny spring vacation. Puglia's Gargano Promontory, the spur of the boot, is an excellent vacation choice. The Gargano offers lots of coastline with good beaches, picturesque medieval towns, important religious pilgrimage sites, the Foresta Umbra National Park with many hiking trails, and fantastic food.
