New Year's Eve Masquerade in Venice

By December 30, 2012

Follow me on:

piazza san marco night photoVenice is known for celebrating New Year's Eve with a big group kiss at midnight in Saint Mark's Square. This year they've added masks to the fun as a prelude to the famous Venice Carnival festival. Called White Venice 2013, New Year's Eve will also feature the square decorated in white and those celebrating in the square are asked to dress in white to add to the atmosphere. Live music starts at 10:30 and fireworks will ring in the new year in both Venice and Mestre where there will also be an ice skating rink on New Year's Day - see White Venice 2013 for details.
