Here are pictures of the procession held before the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics in Pisa. Parade participants from each of the four ancient maritime republics dress in medieval costume for the beautiful procession.
The Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics is a historic boat race with participants from each of the maritime republics - Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa, and Venice. The regatta rotates amongst the four cities - in 2009 it was in Pisa. Each republic has its own colorful gozzo, a historical boat with eight rowers.
