Staying in an Italian castle hotel can be very romantic. Here are renovated castles in Italy where you can spend the night and feel like a king or queen. Some also have restaurants so if you don't want to spend the night, you could just visit for a meal.
Stay in a castle on a hillside in Tuscany near Pienza. Bed and breakfast rooms and weekly apartment rentals are available. I stayed in one of the apartments for a week and although the kitchen was small it was comfortable, affordable, and had great views of the countryside.

Stay in a castle dating back to the ninth or tenth century at Castello Valenzano. Perched on a hill overlooking the Arno River Valley near a national park, the castle is about half an hour north of Arezzo. There are nine rooms, a garden, and a restaurant at the hotel.

Castel Monastero is a luxurious hotel in the Chianti hills 23 kilometers from Siena. The medieval castle and hamlet surrounding it have been remodeled to make 75 rooms and an independent villa.
