Cascata delle Marmore, made by the Romans, is Europe's tallest man-made waterfall (165 meters). The waterfall is in the Umbria region near Terni and Spoleto.

The waterfalls are turned on and off at set times each day to create hydroelectric power. Visitors can hike on the trails to the top of the waterfall. Cascata delle Marmore is about 5 miles from Terni (see Umbria map for Terni location). Near the waterfalls you can also see the unusual Mummies of Ferentillo.
