Here's where you will most likely arrive, unless you've taken the Malpensa Espress train, which makes its stop at Milano Cadorna station. Milano Centrale is connected by bus to both Milan airports.
Construction of Milano Centrale was started in 1857 and was inaugurated on the 10th of May 1864, but by the turn of the century, its six platforms were found inadequate in light of growing rail traffic. What you see now is the result of a design contest held in 1911 and held up by two wars. Milano Centrale station was finally built and inaugurated in 1931, reflecting Liberty and Art Déco styles of the times.
