Frasassi Caves can be visited by guided tour only and tickets must be purchased at the ticket office in the main parking lot at least 30 minutes before the tour. Tickets cannot be bought at the cave entrance.
Arrival and Parking: When arriving by car, follow signs to the large parking lot and ticket office. Around the parking area are souvenir stands and snack bars. To arrive by train, get off at Genga station and from there it's a short walk to the ticket office and shuttle bus area. From the parking lot and ticket office, a shuttle takes visitors to the cave entrance (and returns after the tour).
Tour Times: March through October 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 2:30, 4:00, and 5:00 with additional times on weekends and in August. Winter tours are at 11:00 and 3:30 with additional times on weekends and holidays. Be at the ticket office 30 minutes before your tour time.
English, German, and French tours are given from June through September at 9:45, 11:15, 12:45, 2:45, 4:15 and 5:45. During other months a listening device is provided. Caves and museum are closed December 4 and 25 and January 1 and 10-31.
Speleo Adventure Tours must be booked at least one week in advance. The blue trail lasts about two hours and is suitable for inexperienced cavers while the longer red trail is for those with some experience. Helmets and gear are provided. These tours can be booked by email at email@example.com
Tickets: Full-price in 2012 was 15.50 euro, reduced prices are available for children, adults over age 65, and organized groups. Tickets include shuttle bus and San Vittore Museum. Tickets are sold at the ticket office in the large parking lot.
