Trattoria al Ponte del Megio
Trattoria al Ponte del Megio is a small restaurant with outdoor dining along a canal in nice weather. It specializes in good fresh fish and typical Venetian dishes. The menu includes seafood, meat, and vegetarian options and daily specials are written on a board by the front door. We saw both tourists and locals eating here.Trattoria al Ponte del Megio Review

We started with an octopus and celery salad and stuffed fried zucchini flowers, both specials of the day. The octopus was tender and dressed with good olive oil. Fresh zucchini flowers, fiore di zucca, were stuffed with cheese and deep fried but not greasy at all.
Trattoria al Ponte is a great place to try the traditional Venetian spaghetti al nero di seppie, black spaghetti made with cuttlefish ink. I order this dish often in Italian seafood restaurants and theirs was one of the best I've had. The pasta was perfectly flavored and the seppie (cuttlefish) was very tender. James had the pasta special, spaghetti with zucchini flowers and shrimp, also very good.
Cost of Lunch at Trattoria al Ponte del Megio
We each had a quarter liter of house wine, one a sparkling white and one still, for 3.50 euro. Our total bill including cover charge, mineral water, and coffee, came to 59 euro. (Fall 2008)The menu had several appetizers including a mixed seafood plate. Both pasta and second courses on the menu included meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Desserts looked good but we were too full to try one.
