The Church of Saints Cosma and Damiano, above the forum, displays one of the largest nativity scenes (open Friday - Sunday except in August, 9:00-1:00 and 3:00-6:00), made from 1780 through 1820. This presepe started the Naples style nativity, which still includes figures from everyday life in addition to the traditional Christmas crib or manger. The city of Rome bought and restored the presepe. I visited the presepe as a guest on a Context Travel Rome walking tour.
