You can save money by buying a combination ticket to see Siena's top sites, near each other in the historic center. You don't have to do everything at once either. We bought a ticket in the afternoon and it was still valid the next morning.

This combination ticket gives you admission to five of Siena's most popular sites: Siena's Duomo (or Cathedral), the Baptistery, the Crypt under the Duomo for an archaeological look at the Cathedral's past, the Museo dell'Opera and Facciatone (panoramic terrace where there's a fabulous view of Siena), and the Oratory of San Bernardino in Piazza San Francesco, only open from 1:30-7:00.
You can buy the combination ticket at the ticket office at any of the above sites. In 2007, the ticket cost 10 euro. Most of the sites open at 9:30 and stay open until 7:00 or 8:00 in the evening, allowing you to view them when they're not so crowded. If you're going in the morning, head to the Duomo first to avoid the line.
Tower and Civic Museum Combination Ticket
You can climb Siena's tower for spectacular views of Siena and the surrounding countryside, but it's a steep climb and not recommended for those with claustrophobia, heart problems, or other physical ailments. The twoer opens at 10:00 and closes at 3:15 in winter or 6:15 in summer.
In 2007, the tower alone cost 7 euro and the combination ticket that includes the Civic Museum cost 12 euro. The combination ticket can only be bought at the tower
