Picture of the Courtyard and Loggia in Spoleto's Castle

Spoleto's castle, La Rocca Albornoziana, served as the seat for local pontifical governors. The courtyard has a well in the center and arcaded walkways around the perimeter. The loggia above has remains of some beautiful frescoes as does the wall behind the well. Some of the frescoes were ruined when the castle was used as a high security prison.
