Villa Garzoni sits above the Garzoni Gardens

Villa Garzoni was built in the early 1600s by the powerful Garzoni family. The villa is often called the Castle of 100 windows. The father of Carlo Lorenzini (Collodi), the author of Pinocchio, worked in the kitchen and Napoleon is said to have stayed in one of the bedrooms. The castle is not open to the public as it is being renovated.
