Enjoy these pictures of Val d'Orica, or Orcia Valley, a beautiful valley in southern Tuscany. Principal towns of Val d'Orcia are the Renaissance town of Pienza (see Pienza pictures) and the wine towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino (see Tuscany map). The entire valley has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site for its Renaissance planning and design.
Enjoy our Val d'Orcia pictures, submitted by Joe Palisi, a reader of Italy Travel who wants to share the beauty of Italy with others. To visit the Val d'Orcia and Tuscany, Joe recommends staying at the Agriturismo Cretaiole near Pienza. He's made a slide show about his stay at the agriturismo and places he visited.
