What do you write about in your blog?
My heart belongs to Tuscany, but I also write about Rome, Venice, Florence with a bit of the other regions mixed in for good measure. I'm a budget traveler by nature- so much of the focus is on how to help travelers save money, without sacrificing the experience. I share everything from travel tips, favorite trattorias and wine bars, Italian inspired recipes and lots of lovely photos.
Why Did You Start Your Blog?
When I returned from my first trip to Italy all I could think about was adopting the lifestyle. My blog began as a way to share ways to infuse the Italian culture into my life. I also wanted to share my travel experiences and photos with those who may not be able to travel to Italy. A site where armchair travelers could go for inspiration. Over time it became a way to help others travel on a budget to Italy.
Advice
- It doesn't have to cost a fortune to have an authentic experience in Italy - you can make that dream trip for a lot less than you think. It just requires careful research and planning.
- Learn a few basic, polite Italian phrases before your trip - it's fun to interact with the locals and Italians will appreciate your efforts.
- Don't over-schedule your itinerary - take time to just stroll around or sit at a cafe and soak up the atmosphere. Linger.
