'm Vince Scordo and I run Scordo.com. Scordo aims to inform and entertain readers on how to live the Italian way! Specifically, Scordo focuses on food, recipes, products with an Italian bent, saving money, home and garden tips, and how to advice.
I'm a first generation Italian-American and the son of immigrant parents. My parents taught me how to eat well, save money, manage a home, use my hands, and, yes, live like an Italian (which means living a little bit differently than everyone else)! Papa and Mamma also taught me about perseverance, craftiness, and compassion.
Why Did You Start Your Blog?
I started Scordo.com to teach people how to live the Italian way outside of Italy.
I'm not a trained chef, money manager, or regular on This Old House, rather a regular guy from New Jersey who's been influenced by his southern Italian culture and tradition. I have, however, been called the Italian male equivalent of Martha Stewart (a label I like)!
I've written countless recipes from pesto sauce to arancini, given how to advice to recent college grads and homeowners taking on renovations , reviewed Italian speciality products (like salami) / books / foods, and waxed philosophically on how to save money and live a practical, yet high quality, life!
